In 2018 the Commonwealth Games will be held in the City of Gold Coast which is 70km from Mount Gravatt, Brisbane. In this time there will be several Commonwealth events held in Brisbane.

All of the track cycling events and the shooting events will be held in Brisbane as it becomes a host city for the games.

The cycling events will be held at Anna Meares Velodrome which is located in the suburb of Chandler, South Brisbane which is a short 15 minute drive from the Mount Gravatt Motel.

The shooting events are located at the Belmont Shooting range which is situated close the the Velodrome on the same road. A quick 18 minute drive from the motel will get you there in no time.

Tickets for the cycling events start from $25 for children, and $49 for adults.

Tickets for the shooting events start from $20 for children and $40 for adults.

There is so much more to Brisbane than just the Commonwealth Games events this Autumn.

Take in the sights of South Bank with a trip on the South Bank Wheel, or a walk through the Arch of Flowers. Compete in your own games at the large lagoon for the adults and the wet play area for the kids.

Top off the evening by walking through the verdant green parklands before going to one of the many excellent eateries or bars in the area.

Cross the river and you’ll find yourself in the middle of Queen Street Mall, the biggest mall in Brisbane CBD. There’s everything you need from luxury designer outlets, to the ubiquitous JB Hi-Fi and all the staples of Australia’s shopping districts.
